Why She's Single: A Poem

Disclaimer: The image of the woman in this post is not the woman I'm referring to.

One of the worst things in the world is when you find out someone isn't who you thought they were. Following up on a blog I did concerning this broad several months ago, this is a poem I wrote addressing the situation, but I never posted it-- until now. I started to post the image of this fake, cut-throat bitch, but I changed my mind.

Why She's Single

This thought ran through my mind for a while,
With her caramel brown skin, nice looking face, and smile,
Why is she single?

She’s built in the right places,
Especially when she keeps her weight down,
A good conversationalist, can talk about various topics clock round,
Very knowledgeable, can get deep in thoughts,
Yet, very few, if any dude wants to mingle.

For a while now, I wondered why,
I’ve even asked other guys but would get at best a vague reply.
Talked to her quite a few times, but was still at a guess,
Then, the more I talked to her, the more the reasons why manifest.

Because my situation right now isn’t the best,
She’s doing perhaps a little better,
She talks down to me on the slick,
And kicks me while I’m down, like some of the rest.
Criticizing me and other dudes,
Probably thinking in her mind it’s her own analysis,
When she’s merely repeating what she’s heard someone else say,
A move I’ve found to be typical of this wench.

To hear her tell it, the women are doing better,
But from what I see, she’s rather delusional,
Because she’s a pink slip away from being in a situation no different than me.
The way her and some of the other cackling hens tell it,
The way they’re painting the social scenery,
You would think they were living in mansions and driving Lamborghinis.

The final nail in the coffin,
Is when she pissed on the career that I’m striving to make a living,
Suggesting I find something “with a skill,”
It would be an understatement to say I was pissed,
It was at that point, along with the bullshit she spewed before,
Where I completely lost interest.

You know, I remember she used to tell me how people would call her “fake,”
Said this on more than one night,
Now, after getting to know her better,
I never thought I’d say this, but they were right,

She talked about a woman she once couldn’t stand,
Who had an arrogant attitude,
But from what I can see,
They’re actually of the same brand.
The only difference is the woman she’s referring to,
Her bullshit was transparent,
This one is worse because she hides behind a conscious, deep thought, pro-black facade,
So her bullshit wasn’t as apparent.

Something came to mind the more I talked to her,
The reminder that one of the worse things in the world is finding out someone isn’t who you thought they were.
So, it took some time,
But my question was answered,
Now I understand why some dudes tried but failed or completely didn’t mingle,
It’s because she’s fake, treacherous, bitch,
That’s why she’s single.

  1. Finger snaps on this one!! Sad state when an individual thinks or believes he or she is above someone else, anyone else for that matter. Nice piece!
